Sallamari Rantala is a Finnish visual artist based in Lentvaris, Lithuania. Her practice moves between sculpture and drawing. Through sand, stone-imitation techniques, and relief, she explores the material and historical layers of landscape and their connections to place and belonging. The tension between the surface and spatiality of relief also relates to distance and being in a place.
